It is the first lighthouse in the world that used gas obtained from the distillation of coal for lighting. The light was provided by coal from Istria, mined in a hard coal mine near Labin. Swim on the rocky beach only 30 meters from the lighthouse! Good winds and gentle sea currents favor sea sports such as windsurfing, while the clean sea and clear rocky bottom provide a beautiful sight for diving enthusiasts.
