KRK, OMIŠALJ, terrain with a total area of 5183 m2, exclusively for sports and recreational purposes. The terrain has access from the road and from the sea. Although Omišalj is mentioned in XII. century as "Castri musculi" (from Latin "Ad musculi" - place of shells) Omišalj has prehistoric foundations. Its development can be traced from the Liburnian and Roman times, through the Frankopan princes of Krk to the present day. In the area of the old city core, there was a prehistoric castle (kastelier). At the end of prehistory, Omišalj was inhabited by Liburnians, Fertinates and Kuriktes.
